A story behind every tattoo

Each tattoo has its own meaning to the person who bears it. Our reasoning for getting tattooed usually change overtime. Initially, we often get tattoos that have a lot of meaning behind them.  Many times, people get inked to honor someone or something. The “point” is different for all of us, but no matter what the reason, a tattoo is a symbol of a story that is waiting to be told. Share your tattoo and your story in a Library presentation and exhibit this March, or just mingle at the exhibit reception--sponsored by the Office of Access and Equity--on March 15th from 2:30-6:30.  Presentations by Jamie Davies of Tattooz Ink and participating tattooed individuals will be made at 3:30, followed by refreshments in room 211 of the library. Tattoo portraits will be displayed in the library lobby throughout March. The exhibit will be composed of portraits displayed next to a one to two paragraph narrative on the tattoos meaning/emotional or  cultural resonance.
