Paper formatting is how your writing appears on the page. This includes margin and text size, font, titling and headers. MLA has specific requirements for each element. 

With MLA, your paper will have

• 1" margins
• no title page
• Times New Roman font, size 12
• double space
• your name, instructor's name, course name, and date the listed at the top left corner
• a running header (your last name and page number at top right corner with .5" margin)
• in-text citations that include source's name and page number
• Works Cited page at the end of your work
